Christopher Martin-Jenkins MBE
(20 January 1945 - 1st January 2013)
A hugely respected cricket correspondent, first for the Daily Telegraph and then for The Times. He was also a commentator on Radio 4’s “Test Match Special”. Our thoughts are with his wife Judy and his children Robin, Lucy and James.

Peter Edward Byrne (1942 - 2012)
Peter was the Honorary Treasurer of The Cricket Society from 1972-2009 and The Cricket Society Trust from 1973 until his sudden death on 11th December 2012. Our sincerest condolances go out to his family.

The date for the scattering of Peter’s and also his late wife Lillian’s ashes in the
Harris Memorial Garden at Lords Cricket Ground is on Thursday March 14th at 3pm. Entrance via the Grace Gates. There will also be an unveiling of a memorial bench to Peter. |

JEREMY BURFORD QC (1942-2011) who died on March 10th 2011
Jeremy Burford pictured here was a longstanding player for the Crickety Society XI and played 310 times between 1963 and 1992.

The man whose name is synonymous with cricket bibliography has died at the age of 87. The Cricket Society owes an enormous debt to E.W.Padwick – known as “Tim” - for undertaking the monumental task of compiling the game’s definitive bibliography.
